ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Peden Hill Elementary serves approximately 268 children from kindergarten to grade seven. It is a well maintained facility with eleven classrooms, a well stocked library, two networked mobile laptop carts, a full size gym, and a large playing field with two adventure playgrounds. Our school has experienced, committed teachers and support staff, including an Indigenous education worker and community school coordinator. We offer a range of programs including learning assistance, English as a second language/dialect, and after school programs. In addition, Peden Hill provides a number of cultural and sporting extra-curricular activities.

Peden Hill’s population is diverse, with students from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. We believe that all children are special with individual needs and characteristics. Our school is committed to supporting growth of the whole child, including academic skills, social-emotional development, performing arts and physical health.

To achieve these goals, we work hard to:

  • offer stimulating learning experiences at an appropriate level in all curriculum areas
  • create and maintain a safe learning environment in which all students feel secure
  • provide activities and situations which foster children’s social development and contribute to their emotional growth and well-being
  • encourage children to respect themselves, other individuals and cultures, and the world around them

We believe parents play a crucial role in determining their children’s success at school, and are important partners in learning. We are proud of our Parent Advisory Committee and their valuable contributions. With this in mind, we work hard to keep everyone informed about how we can work  together to maximize learning and success.
